Spotify for macOS

An independent redesign that brings Spotify into the visual language of macOS. Native glass surfaces, familiar music rituals.

At home on the Mac.

I explored how Spotify could feel native to macOS while keeping its familiar paths to music. The work covers the app shell, discovery, library, listening views and the smaller states around them.

Independent redesign concept

A place for your collection.

Pinned favourites and consistent filters put playlists, albums and artists in one library. Playback keeps its own place below the window.

Search results for Fontaines D.C. with artist, songs and albums

Follow the music.

Search leads with an artist and their tracks. Albums follow in the same view, while Now Playing stays beside the results.

Stay with the song.

Lyrics open in the listening panel beside the library. The song stays in context, with playback controls within reach.

Home with an expanded lyrics panel beside the music collection

Music at any scale.

The playlist view gives a collection room to breathe. A compact player keeps the artwork, track and essential controls together when the main window is out of the way.
